“A stray cat must rescue her friend from the depths of the Aegean Sea”.
Tavla follows the story of a stray cat named Kedi who befriends a young boy through the titular game. They bond as their friendship blossoms; finally finding a place she can call ‘home’. But when her happiness is snatched away by the sea, it’s up to her to win a life-saving game of tavla to win him back.
During my senior year at SCAD, I had the absolute honor and pleasure of being the Co Producer on the senior capstone film, Tavla. Though I had previously produced two other SCAD student films, producing a year long production was certainly full of new challenges and experiences. I absolutely loved it and quickly adapted to the longer scope. This experience confirmed what I already knew to be true: Production Management makes or breaks a production and I knew my previous experience could help my team make the best film possible! Team Resources Tour
I made the team resources page the day after I got assigned to Tavla. Through all the SCAD student productions I have been on I have created a base Team Resources google Doc that has the team contact info, availability, description and assignment of roles, strengths and weaknesses, naming convention, and shot list. This list (and more importantly color palette) is subject to change based on the specific production, but for me it’s always the first step in the creative process.
Discord Tour
Discord was the main source of communication used by my team. We had channels for every production category and roles set up for each department. Discord helped us to stay connected throughout the year and allowed my Co Producer and I to post our notes, assignments, and general updates to a central place where everyone could easily access it on their phones.
